Install the rear timing plate (1) onto the cam housing. Install the front timing tool (2) into the grooves cut into the cams and pin it into the cam housing. Once it is in place, install a bolt into the tool to hold it in place. Verify that the marks on the gear match the marks on the timing plates. Remove the two bolts holding the inspection cover to the flywheel housing. Remove the pin from the engine barring tool. Install the tool in the flywheel housing and secure with two bolts of sufficient length. Note: The inspection cover bolts are not long enough to install the engine barring tool. Longer ones will be needed. As needed, insert the pin to lock the tool and block movement of the flywheel ring gear. 19MM High Pressure Fuel Line Socket. Line Socket specially design for quick and easy loosening and tightening the union nut at high pressure lines of diesel engines. Required a 3/8 Inch Drive Wobble Extension tool. Engine Brake Adjustment tool 4.1/4.6mm. Set the lash on all the exhaust adjusting screws first (all the adjusting screws in direct contact with the exhaust valves). Rotate the engine until a given cylinder is at maximum intake lift. When this is reached, the brake lash can be set on this cylinder. When the engine brake rocker arm is in contact with the exhaust valve, set the lash between the engine brake rocker arm adjusting screw and the actuator piston stem. Lash the engine brakes. Install injector tube tool J-47388-A into injector tube bore and align tool with slots in tube. Turn the hex located on the top of the tool until the hex bottoms out on the lower hex. The fingers located on the bottom of the tool are now expanded and will aid in removing the injector tube from the cylinder head. Turn the tool counterclockwise to remove the injector tube from the cylinder head. NOTICE: Remember to drain the coolant before removing the injectors cups. TDC Locating Pin/ Camshaft Locking Timing Pin. When the clutch is removed, the timing pin is get inserted into the Crankshaft Position Sensor hole in the flywheel housing and engage into the flywheel notch.
